ZOO MANNERS

For the safety of our guests and our animals, we ask you to follow these guidelines.

  • WWA is a non-smoking facility.

  • Do not feed animals anything you have brought in.

  • Animal food is sold on site, and may be fed to many of the animals, but for the safety of the animals we do not allow any food brought in to be fed.

  • Pets and Service Animals: For the safety of our animals and guests, we ask that you please leave your pets at home. Even the most well-behaved pet can react to unfamiliar animals in unexpected ways, and even the scent of a dog may cause an animal to be frightened. Service dogs as defined by the ADA are welcome. Under the ADA, a service animal is defined as “a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person’s disability.”  Emotional support animals do not qualify as service dogs.

  • No balloons or dangerous objects are allowed. Many animals will eat unknown objects which can cause them great harm. Please do not allow animals to chew on anything besides the food they are meant to eat. If an object accidentally goes into an animal enclosure, please notify a staff member immediately.

  • Teasing is mean. Please be respectful to the animals. No teasing, chasing, yelling at or hitting an animal will be tolerated.
